The demon Boralis is one bad guy. He's taken the Princess Ann of Fairyland and transformed her into three different fairies, each of which has been separated to the far reaches of the world. There's only one knight in all of Fairlyland brave enough to find all three fairies and defeat Boralis. His name is Jim, and he is about to have the adventure of a lifetime.

In Hydlide, you control Jim on his quest to save the princess from her unique situation. There are eight different weapons for you to find in Fairyland, each more powerful than the previous. But what good are weapons without enemies to use them on? You'll fight 19 different types of those, each battle increasing your experience, making you a more effective warrior. There are also five different magic spells that Jim can find in order to vanquish his foes. He'll need all the help he can get. Boralis is not a merciful opponent.
