The limited action in Burai Fighter would be monotonous if not for the variety of colorful aliens and the intricate pathways you take. Things only get tedious during the third and sixth levels, when the perspective switches to an overhead view. These two aberrant levels are the weakest part of the game, but they don't completely ruin the experience. Burai Fighter doesn't break any new ground or require much intelligence, but it does the most important thing a game can do -- it entertains.
