The best of Wisdom Tree's Biblical releases, King of Kings: The Early Years is a solid collection of three platform games based on events early in the life of Jesus Christ. "The Wise Men" puts you in the role of the three wise men on camels as they follow the Christmas star to Bethlehem. "Flight to Egypt" follows Joseph and Mary as they take Jesus to Egypt on the back of a donkey. Finally, "Jesus and the Temple" centers on Joseph and Mary as they try to find the lost baby Jesus. In all three games, there are various opportunities to answer Bible questions in order to regain your health. The graphics are simple but surprisingly attractive, showing quite a bit more depth than Wisdom Tree's other games. The music is equally impressive, with energetic renditions of We Three Kings, Go Tell it on the Mountain and What Child is This? The gameplay is basic but challenging and varied enough to keep it interesting. As of 2001, the game was still available directly from Wisdom Tree.
